Monday making

This is a mashup of some recent
Hand-me-down fabrics.
Mostly 6 1/2” squares.

Some of the fabric was quite ugly.
Do YOU use ugly fabrics?

I feel sorry for those poor uglies.
It’s nice to slip them into scrappy quilts!

I’m calling the block Disappearing squares.

Not a very catchy name. LOL!

More info about this block on my youtube channel.

What are YOU making this week?

  1. Yes I agree. The 'not so pretty' fabrics work really well for scrappy projects. Your blocks look like fun!

  3. Yep, I use some uglies in with pretties. On the other hand, beauty (and ugly) is in the eye of the beholder. I'm looking at your block thinking I don't think any of those fabrics are really ugly.

  5. It's a fun block. Maybe there are some uglies, but putting the blocks together that way makes for some fun secondary patterns that drown out the uglies for me.

  6. I don't find any of those "ugly" either. Some of them might be challenging to use in some blocks. But they work well in this one.

  7. I think it is important to slip the uglies in somewhere. It reminds me that everything ( everyone) can be useful

  8. Hi,
Very pretty blocks. I love your "ugly" fabric. I've always had an
eye for unusual fabrics. Have a great day!

  10. It’s a fun block! To me fabrics are usually just ugly alone. They improve in a crowd.
