Monday Making

My courthouse steps quilt is slowly growing!

One little scrap at a time.

I work a little bit on it most evenings
after the cooking and cleaning, etc. has ended for the day.

I had a mess of plums I needed to "deal with"
so a friend recommended this recipe.

That's ALL IT TOOK for me to learn about ICE CREAM  making.

I have NEVER made ice cream.
and....
I've obviously been missing out!

I found an ice cream maker at the thrift store...
my GO TO shopping destination...
and it was so easy after that.

Yum.

What are YOU making this week???

I absolutely love scrappy quilts. All the fabrics and colors make them so interesting. Great job!

  2. I find your new quilt just charming in all it's wonky and scrappy goodness. Ice cream in this heat is a perfect touch.

  4. I just love your Courthouse Steps.

I haven't made ice cream in years. I have memories of old hand crank ice cream makers we would crank for hours on end at Grandma's house. When we weren't cranking we were picking red raspberries to put on top of the ice cream when it was finished. My electric ice cream maker just isn't the same!

  8. I love the CourtHouse steps! The plum sorbet looks delicious. I think I need to give it a try as we have loads of plums right now.
