Monday Making

I began ANOTHER applique project this week.
I am enjoying these soft pretty colors.
The pink and yellow scraps make a great COMBO!

The green is from a cotton sheet.
Sometimes I find cotton sheets at the thrift store.
They are an affordable way to boost your STASH.
:)
I will NEVER run out of that wonderful GREEN!

The pattern for these blocks came from sentimental stitches.
I have had the pattern for quite a while and am enjoying
the applique.
(the pattern is called "sally post floral sampler")

I needle turn using the pattern as a guide ONLY.
The pieces I cut are very 'free form'.
:)

It is, friends, the stress FREE way to applique.
Does MY quilt need to look exactly like Sally"s???
Nope.

What are YOU making this week???

  5. Your appliqué is lovely! You know, I'm in awe of you thrift store and flea market goddesses who find amazing things at unbelievable prices. It must be like having a "green thumb" and none of your plants die -- some have it, some don't, because when I go hunting at thrift stores I never find any of the great things other people find there! Good for you; that green is the perfect shade for that vintage '30s look. I love it with your freeform appliqué.
