No One will know

No one's going to know the ugliness this quilt holds!
Oh, they might...

If they look real close!

My all time LEAST favorite fabric....

And another....
all time LEAST favorite!!!!

If they look REAL close they might see a cleat.

Or part of a football helmet.

This is the LAST remnant of a quilt I made a few years ago.
Remember when you made quilts for EVERY occassion....
No matter how big or small???

Well...I bet I can top your occassion!!!
This quilt was made at the end of flag football season
for the Coach.
Yeah.....
A coach's gift.

I bet he laughs every time he tells his friends
the CRAZY coach's gift he received one year.
:0

Those pieces of fabric might be ugly to me....
but....
I sure like the way the little pieces look in HERE!!!!

  1. Yes! You can make a silk purse out of a sow's ear after all. I bet the coach uses his quilt all the time when he's veging out watching TV.

  3. One of the fascinating things about quilt making... the whole is greater than the sum of the parts!

  4. It is ever amazing to me how scraps go together to make such beautiful end results. Great job of giving the underprivledged a chance to perform a meaningful job. Selina

  5. Turned out great!! I always love seeing people start to look closely at my scrap quilts! They may find Pebbles & Bam-Bam next to a batik or a floral print! You just never know and yet put them all together in small pieces in a scrap quilt and voila!!! A treasured piece of tasteful art!!

  7. Hey - it all works. I was told once if it is still ugly you didn't cut it small enough! Don't know about that, but you have found a wonderful blend of blues and textures that have made for a wonderful quilt that someone is going to love.

  8. You crack me up! I also have some least favorite fabrics in my stash that get cut up really small and used in my scrap quilts. Even when they are ugly I still can't bear to throw them away. :)

  10. I like Bonnie Hunter's theory that if the fabric looks ugly, you just didn't cut it small enough! I LOVE that collection of fabrics. It's an outstanding use of bits and pieces and leftovers.

  15. You know the old saying - if that fabric's still ugly, you just haven't cut it small enough!! Turned into a pretty quilt, though!

  17. Sometimes an ugly fabric is just what the quilt ordered! It's our little secret.

I love putting in some little remembrance fabric, or some odd little thing for the recipient to find at a latter date. Makes the quilt entertaining.

  19. I have some yuck fabric too. Why do I keep holding on to it? I have used some for dog blankets lately. Your quilt looks great...and it's a great way to use up the uglies.
