You know...it creeps in at every turn!
Even the lowly re-usable shopping bag has not
been left out!
Have we all made one or two or three shopping bags...
just because we like to sew?
UGLY bags that were a deal!
I wanted to cover the awful picture that was
printed on them.
I will attach the pictures with a Large running stitch
I will attach the pictures with a Large running stitch
around the outside edge.
It will fray a little, but that's o.k. with me.
The first picture is the only one that is
finished with that running stitch.
of my little "stitch-doodled" pictures.
supplies:
buttons
yo yos
embroidery floss
and steam a seam for the pots
Cute, cute, cute. And what an improvement for the bags! That material showed in making the yo-yo is old! How do I know? Because I have some just like it!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by! This is just adorable and probably about what I will end up with in twelve months. I commend you for not using a yo-yo maker ~ you're brave ;) I am OCD and have a maker in every size (lol).

Very cute bags--and I recognize that calico you used for the yo-yo. I used to have a bunch of that fabric, and I used up every last bit. Those old calicoes are so charming.
ReplyDeleteGreat way to rescue those ugly store bag! Now you have super cute ones without starting from scratch!
ReplyDeleteGood on you for making use of stuff you had on hand. Great recrafting.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea! I have some of those bags that would benefit by some updating. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteGreat work! You made something so ordinary into works of art. Shopping will never be the same again.
ReplyDeleteYou probably get asked this all the time, but have you thought of opening your own Etsy shop?
ReplyDeleteThese are great! I love to make yo-yos, but never seem to do anything with them...I'll have to give this a try!
ReplyDeleteGood ideas - I really like the first one. Nic
