Monday Making

I gave a quilt away this week.

I've had this one "ready to go" for quite a while....
but...
I wasn't ready to part with it until now.
It contains quite of few vintage fabrics
that I'll never see again.

I know.
It's silly.

I have SO much fabric.
Why fret about a CUTE little yellow strip of cotton??
with LAMBS on it??
That's only 1" x 5"???

I DO LOVE string QUILTS!!!

I guess I'll have to make another!!!

What are YOU making this week???

  1. Oh i get your hesitation about parting with bits of fabric--I too get fixated on certain ones...your gift will surely be appreciated --and those cute little lambkins, too lol hugs, Julierose

  2. It's a lovely and your heart will love the feeling of giving! There are many more scraps to sew together.

  3. Having more fabric doesn't make it any easier to let go of the last bit of a favorite. But it's always nice to give away a favorite to someone who will love it and use it.

  4. Oh yes, another is in order. String quilts are fun, and I think we all get the attachment to fabrics! Quite often I'll look at someone's quilt and can recall various fabrics and even have some of them.

  5. We do get sentimental about some of our fabrics.... And, yes, I see why you are -- the lambs are darling.

  8. You're not alone, I have a walk in closet full of quilts i am not in any hurry to part with. So many that I convinced I need to buy stock in space bags. Love the colors in this. Thank you for the linky party.

  12. Sometime it is too hard to give up a quilt that we have made with our own hands and at the same love the quilt and or fabric that was used in it. It is sweet and a very pretty quilt. I am sure the recipient was happy to have received it!!

  13. Hi Beth, I understand how you feel. Sometimes you just get attached to a particular fabric and it's very sad when you run out. That lovely quilt will be loved by its new owner :-)

  16. Oh I totally feel your pain. It does feel silly to be reluctant to give a quilt away because of a precious bit of fabric but it's a REAL thing. hehe The trick is to keep making quilts so there are other quilts we want to keep MORE.:)
