Little scraps and orphans

I don't get tired of making practical potholders.

It makes me happy to give little things away
using UP leftover scraps of pretty fabric.

Even Orphan blocks make great little mugrugs!

I was happy to use this lovely plaid on the back that I've been saving!

One thing is for SURE!
I will use up my old towels...
before I even make a DENT in the SCRAP BASKET!!!

  1. Quite wonderful creations! And not a bit of the calamine lotion colored pink towel showed, either, LOL! Don't get me wrong, I love pink! But as a kid, my poison ivy was always getting painted with pink calamine lotion.

  3. Very pretty and very useful. But I do get the scrap basket delimma, it seems to be the one thing in the sewing room that you never completely empty.

  6. Happy New Year and happy quilting. I did not know you can use towels in pot holders, I assume mug rugs. A good use for my ancient ones, some fifty-year-old ones. But I still dread binding.

  7. Great idea about using old towels, especially now that I used the last of my batting scraps making up the last batch of potholders. Have a happy new year.
