Monday Making

It's Sunday where I live.  ;)
and...
Since spring break is HERE
I'm trying to get everything packed up for a little camping!
This post is just a little early.
Early is better than LATE, right??

I've been trying to keep a linky party
going over here on Mondays.
Just a little show and tell.
What are you working ON??

This little IN PROGRESS knitted blanket
will be my constant companion this week.
Oh...
I might unpack my little sewing machine too...
It's so nice to camp in a trailer!
Let me tell you..
I did the whole TENT camping thing
for many years!!!
The best part about a trailer is the KITCHEN!!!
A BIG bonus is the fact I can sew too!!!

Well......
What are YOU making this week??
If you LOVE making as much as I do...
I know you're working on SOMETHING!!!!
:)

Friday

The little quilt I showed on Monday is quilted!
I'm always super happy when a project is all DONE!
(That means I can give it AWAY!
The BEST part about quilting!)

This quilt is FULL of  happy scraps.
Some of these scraps have been waiting a LONG time
to be included....

Just a FEW of the little pieces that
NEEDED to be in a quilt!

Such sweet vintage fabric.

Since Ms. Juki was unavailable this week....
little Miss Featherweight did the quilting.
She buzzed right along like it was NO PROBLEM!

"A friend in need is a friend indeed".
Miss Featherweight proved her worth this week.

Monday Making

It's MONDAY!
Time for a little linky party
to share what YOU'RE up to.

I sat down and did a little dump and sew quilt top this weekend.
(my affectionate term for dumping out the scraps
and sewing them together)

I LOVE dumping the scraps out....
choosing some pretty colors....
and
PUZZLING them all together.

I'll be quilting this
and getting it sent off soon.
The baby is due ANY day.

What are you MAKING this week??

Friday

I made ONE piece of pie earlier in the week for a gift...
and I couldn't STOP.

I kept digging around.....
Looking for appropriate PIE material.
The NON-calorie kind.
;)

I now have FOUR pieces of pie.
FOUR little potholders
READY for gifting!

This paper pieced pattern is based on this one.
(mine has the addition of a plate)

I dare you to try and make JUST ONE.

Baby snuggles

I HAVE to make something for the new babies.
IT's A MUST.

Homemade baby things are not OPTIONAL.
;)
They are required.

This little baby blanket made with two pieces of flannel....
four cute little ribbon "tags"....
and hand quilting ALL around...
is one of my "GO TO" baby gifts these days.

I LOVE the happy animal print.
SO fun.

I added a little how to video to my YOUTUBE channel
a while back describing how I make these little cuddly blankets.

I'll ADD a book or two for older brother
THEN...
I'm going to head over and meet my new little friend.
I am SO ready for
some NEW BABY snuggles!!!

CAn'T WAIT!

Quilts for the Table - Part two

This weekend I was able to get FIVE more table quilts FINISHED.
If you know me a little bit...
You'll know one of my FAVORITE words is DONE!!!
;)

These little quilts were almost done...
but they needed quilting and BINDING.

Now...I can say...I"m finished.
They are COMPLETE.

A few stray strings???
Maybe.
But...I'm going to call them done.

My goal is 12 table quilts for an upcoming retreat
to be auctioned off.

I'm up to NINE!!!

What are YOU up to this week????

Link up and let us know what YOU'RE making.

Quilting for the table

I'm in the midst of making little quilts for the table.

I have a goal...
12 table toppers.

They will be auctioned off at an upcoming retreat.

FOUR down....
eight to GO!!!!

I think I've blogged about these as I've been working on them.
A few of them include orphans from fellow quilters!
I can't say NO to lonely orphan blocks.
;)
They make GREAT table QUILTS!

Monday Making

After a few days of travel
the sewing room needs to be dusted off.
The dust settled into mountains and hills of FIBER.

There are rivers of thread RUNNING across the floor.
There are FIELDS of fabric full of color!

How in the world did everything pile up
while I was away...
or so it SEEMS!

I think..... as I did my coming and going
I kept doing a little of this
and a little of THAT.
I was packing
and unpacking.
Plus...
Sewing little seams here and there.

THAT, my friends, is what it takes to make a big mess!

Good thing I have this JEWEL of a potholder
to show for ALL that mess!

ISN'T she sweet??

She IS a potholder..
but I imagine holding HOT lids will not be on her first agenda!

First, She needs hang up and be admired.
She needs to sing!
She needs to SHINE!

I'll be binding her today and singing along.
;)

What are you up to this Monday Morning??
Link up and join the party.

;)

Here's my favorite teacher.
LOVED my week away.

Monday making

Technology is eluding me today.
I'd love to share photos of what I'm making with Gwen Marstin here in asilomar
But.....
I can't seem to do it.
I want some hair when I'm done!!
LOL!

You CAN look at my Instagram.

That seems to be working for me.
;)
I'm sewing lots of fun little sketches...
And.....having a blast doing it!

What are you making?
I'm posting this a bit early
It's not Monday yet.....
But getting it done today means
The linky party is up and running
And I can keep sewing!!!

Link up if you'd like to share something.
Fabric or food.
Those are the only "rules" this week. ;)
